Don't Bother

Don’t bother—
When you’re bothered.
When your mind’s a storm,
Or your heart feels heavy,
Give yourself permission
To step back,
To close the door
On noise that drags you down.

But hey,
And this is important—
Be aware.
Not everyone is a friend.
Some wear smiles like masks,
And come close just to take.

They’re like wind—
Whipping up dust,
Then disappearing,
Leaving you unsettled,
Wondering what was real.

So, don’t give your light away
To those who only want to watch it flicker.
Be kind, yes.
But keep your eyes open.

Trust is a garden—
Tend it carefully,
Water only what’s true,
And let the rest lie fallow.

When you’re bothered,
Don’t bother.
Protect your peace—
It’s the fiercest kind of love.
