The Ocean and the Moon
The ocean knows,
It carries only the reflection—
Not the moon,
Not the memory,
But only the light
That trembles
And vanishes.
It does not keep
What touches it,
But only echoes
Of silence,
Stitched in salt.
It does not choose
What sinks or stays,
Only cradles
The weightless
And the lost.
The tide risesWith what never stayed,
And returns
With nothing
But the hush
Of having held
Almost
Everything.
It speaks in waves
Yet keeps no voice,
It shines with stars
But owns no sky.
It remembers
Without remembering—
Each pull,
A letting go.
The ocean knows,
It carries only the reflection—
Not the moon.
